If you have been following the series so far, you will have recognised by now how intelligent this energy is, and hopefully, you will be awed and amazed at the many different ways it can help.
But it might stretch your imagination even further when I tell you that, as practitioners, we are also taught how to send Reiki backwards and forwards in time.
To even begin to get your head around this concept, we need to dive into a bit of Quantum Physics.
Quantum science suggests that time isn't a fixed, absolute flow like we experience it — instead, it's flexible and linked to the observer. In quantum mechanics, events don't always happen in a strict order, and particles can even be "entangled" across time, meaning the future can influence the past. Time at the quantum level behaves more like a network of possibilities rather than a straight line.
Anyway, the science is all very well, but what about how it works in practice?
For me, using Reiki this way has been nothing short of spectacular.
MY STORY WITH JAZZ
I first started using Reiki on Jazz in this way after I had become attuned to Reiki Master level.
Jazz is a sensitive Thoroughbred mare, who can be very much affected by the energies of people and places.
There was one year when my daughter had started to ride her, and she was also taking her out to clinics and low-level shows. They competed mainly in show jumping, arena eventing, and a little combined training (dressage and show jumping).

I always ensured that I sent distance Reiki the night before an event or clinic, with the intention that all would go smoothly and that Jazz would remain calm and happy. I would also visualise the event going well, and all of us being happy with how everything had transpired.
I will stress here that you can’t use Reiki to win a class or to jump clear rounds, but you can use it to help the horse be calm, focused, and free of anxiety. This was always my intention when sending it.
Throughout that year, Lauren must have taken Jazz out to events about 12 times.
Is it any coincidence that the one time I didn’t send Reiki healing (about the fifth time out), Jazz behaved completely differently compared to the other outings?
My daughter had taken her to a jumping clinic. Jazz had sweated up on the trip over and was very unsettled and restless after unloading at the other end. In the clinic, she was very nappy, not wanting to leave the other horses. It wasn’t a good experience for either of them.

Lauren made me promise not to let them venture out again without sending Reiki.
She is a vet and highly scientific, but she has witnessed the profound effects it weaves — and now, with Jazz behaving like a completely different horse, she didn’t doubt its efficacy.
CONCLUSION
Working with Reiki across time has opened my heart and mind to just how limitless this energy truly is. It reminds me that with clear intentions and trust, we can offer support, healing, and calm not just in the present moment, but also for the journeys still to come.
If you’ve never tried sending Reiki to a future event, I encourage you to give it a go — you might just be amazed at the magic you set in motion.
In future Articles, I will share many other ways where reiki can benefit our animals.
