WE ARE ALL MEDIUMS

What if I was to tell you that connecting with loved ones in spirit is much, much easier than you could ever imagine? Would you believe me? Probably not!
Your answer would probably be something along the lines of “No, it is a gift you are born with. I don’t have the ability.” Or even if you thought it possible, you may believe that it takes years of training and practice to master the ability to do so.
I understand your thinking because I once thought that way too. But not anymore! Walking the spiritual path has taught me otherwise.
The only ingredients needed to connect to those in spirit are focus, trust, love and belief.
Focus may take a little time to master. But any sort of mindfulness practice or meditation will enable you to let go of your thoughts and bring you into the present moment.
Then all you need to do is to start thinking about your loved one in spirit. Think of the times you spent together, and bring to life their personality and character. Most importantly, connect to your heart centre, and think of them with love, joy and gratitude.
The next step is to call them into your special place (the place you go in your mind that brings you peace, joy and happiness). For example, my special place is a lake surrounded by beautiful trees and flowers. There is a waterfall, bridged by a rainbow.
In your special place, envisage them standing in front of you. Then, just start chatting to them and allow them to talk back.
So this is where things get a bit tricky, because this is going to test your belief to the limit! You are bound to tell yourself that this is just your imagination, and you are making the whole thing up in your head. After all, if this was real mediumship, wouldn’t you hear their voice outside yourself, or wouldn’t you see them with your physical eyes, or even feel them? Although this is possible and does happen for some people, this is not true for the majority.
There is a way of getting around the lack of self-belief: ask for a sign! This has never failed for me, and is the best proof that you are really talking to a loved one in spirit.
I could give you many examples of this, so I will give you the most recent.
We were holidaying in Corfu and I was lazing away on a beach lounger, just a few feet away from the beautiful, azure-coloured sea. Taking a break from reading, I decided to meditate, my intention being to connect with my dog in spirit.

The next hour passed in bliss, as I made effortless connection with my beautiful poodle, Candy, who had transitioned nearly forty years ago. I reminisced deeply on her life, and after recalling the fun and adventures we shared, I started talking to her, enjoying a lovely conversation. We both commented on things we wish we had approached differently, but concurred that we were evolving beings who were very much learning from our mistakes. The main thing is that we had shared a deep enduring love for each other.
I really enjoyed meeting up with Candy, but the human side of me wanted some sort of validation that this had been a true soul meeting. So I made a request. “If this is real, and we are really talking to each other, can you please gift me a song. We are going to have lunch at one of the tavernas along the beach, so can you please allow me to hear your song at this time. And just so that I know it is from you, can you please make it an old song from the 1960’s, a love song, and one that I will enjoy listening to. Oh, and if there is a message in it, that would be great too.”

Truly, I was asking for a lot. Well to cut to the chase, I only heard one piece of music that lunch time. As we walked along the beachfront, there was a song playing loudly and clearly. Was it a 1960’s song? Yes, google revealed it was written in 1960 and became a hit in 1962. Was it a love song? Without doubt! Did I enjoy listening to it? Absolutely! I have been singing it every day since.
The song? “Sealed with a kiss.”

Just listening to the song made my heart race with excitement. For the message was truly wonderful and it was indicative of our situation; two lovers in forced separation! Could my dog in heaven really be sending me a letter every day, sealed with a kiss?
Based on my experiences over the last ten years I should have had no doubts whatsoever and the answer was obvious, but just two days later back home in England, I was beginning to wonder whether the whole thing could just have been coincidence. I must have been suffering holiday blues or something, because I am not normally a doubting Thomas, and time and time again, I have been witness to so many signs and synchronicities.
Now I was being greedy. “Ok” I said out loud. “If you really did gift that song for me, then please give me a sign which will leave me in no doubt whatsoever.”
All it took was two hours. Just two hours!
On visiting my parents, I learned that their shower had stopped working. Whilst sifting through their cabinet, I pulled out the paperwork relating to the shower. A newspaper cutting fell to the floor, and as I bent to pick it up, I could barely believe what I was seeing. The first line had been cut through, so left staring me in the face, in big bold lettering was the remainder of the headline “SEALED WITH A KISS.”

It transpired that on the other side of the cutting was an advert for the shop where dad had bought the shower from, and he had just placed this with the paperwork.
But this wasn’t the last of the signs. A week later as I was driving back from doing the food shopping, the thought crossed my mind, “Could I just have received two amazing coincidences?”
“No” screamed the Universe, and just to prove a point, there are no prizes for guessing what started playing five minutes later on my Daily Mix. Although I have been listening to Daily Mix for months, this song has never played before and I have never listened to it through Spotify.
How could anyone now say that this was just a coincidence? My elation, gratitude and joy knew no bounds.
There may still be part of this story still to tell, for some of the song has the words, “Oh let us make a pledge to meet in September, and seal it with a kiss.” Could there be a part two to this tale? Only time will tell.
In the meantime, I will keep singing my current favourite song; reminding me every day that my beloved dog never truly left me.

The photos are all of Candy at various stages of her life.
